Turn Domain Protect On & Off

Turn Domain Protect On & Off

To protect your domain name registration from unauthorized or fraudulent transfers, Network Solutions turns on Domain Protect as the default for each of your domain names.

Domain Protect blocks domain name transfers to another registrant until you or your designated contact turns off the feature. You therefore can control the transferability of your domain names and protect against domain hijackers while still performing legal name changes, account consolidation, or transfers between Network Solutions accounts.

To turn Domain Protect on and off

  1. Click the Domains left menu tab
  2. Click Manage Domain Names
  3. Click the domain name that you want to manage
  4. In the Domain Protect row, click Turn Off or Request Authorization
  5. Click the On or Off radio button
  6. Click Save

Note: Only check the Request Authorization box if you are transferring your domain to another registrar.
