View & Edit WHOIS Contacts
WHOIS contact information is required information for registration of a domain name. This contact information is available to third parties through interactive, publicly accessible registration databases. (To protect your WHOIS contact information, you can make the domain a private registration.)
- The WHOIS Account Administrative and Technical Contacts have no permissions to manage services on your Network Solutions account unless you designate them as Network Solutions account contacts.
- Unless otherwise specified, Network Solutions will use your Account Holder information as your WHOIS Account Administrative and Technical Contact information when you register a new domain name.
- The account Primary Contact, account Administrative Contact, and account Technical Contact can assign WHOIS contacts. You can assign WHOIS contacts for each individual domain name, or you can assign the same WHOIS contact to multiple domains under one account.
- If the domain is a private registration, the WHOIS public database will display only the first and last names of the WHOIS contacts.
- Before you create a private registration, you must have a valid NIC handle or User ID. You can assign someone who does not have a User ID, or you can establish alternate contact information for yourself in the WHOIS database by creating a new User ID and profile, using a valid e-mail address and following the instructions below.
